When I execute
brew upgrade, I would like to prevent the
brew update that seems to happen automatically. For various reasons, the update on my work network takes a long time, even if nothing is updated.
I would prefer to do
upgrade—manually at home and just do only
upgrades when I’m at work.
Is there a flag I’m missing that will prevent the update step when upgrading installed packages?
For example, the following command will generally always cause an
update even when I know brew is up to date.
brew upgrade `brew outdated`
