Uninstall Homebrew

#1

Hey there,
I would like to know the command (brew command) to uninstall Homebrew.
Sincerely.
And the Homebrew command to uninstall Java.

The uninstalling of packages is just as easy as installing them. Simply use brew uninstall instead of brew install.

If you want to get rid of homebrew all together there’s a command you can run in the install repository.

Afraid there’s no Homebrew command to uninstall Java, because Java is not installed or managed by Homebrew the way it manages normal packages. You need to do it manually. For instructions, see:

Uninstalling Java (JRE): https://www.java.com/en/download/help/mac_uninstall_java.xml
Uninstalling Java JDK: https://docs.oracle.com/javase/8/docs/technotes/guides/install/mac_jdk.html

You probably want the “uninstalling Java JDK” one.
