I cannot for the life of me figure out how to install libc6-dev through Mac OS-X terminal. I am still very new to using the terminal, and up til now I haven’t had any major issues with installing packages. However this one small package seems to evade me. There isn’t any useful information anywhere that I’ve found in getting this. It’s strange because I require both that and libgdiplus, and the latter of the two gave me no trouble whatsoever. Any help in getting this programme installed would be greatly appreciated.
There is no libc6-dev package in homebrew. (https://formulae.brew.sh/formula/libc6-dev) what is it supposed to ship?
Yeah given the errors I’ve been receiving have just been “file not found”, I know that it just doesn’t exist within them. I was more just hoping to find some information on how, if possible, I am supposed to get the package installed. I wasn’t really sure where to ask haha
If you can tell me what libc6-dev is supposed to ship I might be able to point you to another package that ships the same software.
Honestly the lack of online info about libc6-dev is incredibly frustrating haha, but this is the closest thing that I’ve found about the details of what it does/ships. Sorry that I can’t be more clear, but I don’t know too much about it, only that I need it
“Contains the symlinks, headers, and object files needed to compile and link programs which use the standard C library.”
Thanks for helping either way
https://formulae.brew.sh/formula/gcc@6 probably contains what you are looking for then.
Thanks for the suggestion, but it’s not fixed the issues that I’m having. I think I’m going to have to call it quits at this point. Thanks anyway
