No available formula with the name "mumps"

mumps is listed on braumeister: http://braumeister.org/repos/Homebrew/homebrew-science/formula/mumps

but I can’t seem to brew install mumps:

$ brew install mumps

you have two different ways to install mumps

Method 1:

  1. brew tap brewsci/science
  2. brew install mumps
  3. if that didn’t work, download mumps.rb from here
  4. brew install ./mumps.rb

Method 2

  1. brew tap dpo/openblas
  2. brew install mumps

I’m afraid the above methods I had written while ago might not work anymore. The working installation method provided by Dominique Orban, on MUMPS users mailing list is:

  • brew tap brewsci/num
  • brew install brewsci-mumps

Hi,
I have been struggling to install mumps on my mac. I just tried the above last option without success. Here is what I get:

brew install brewsci-mumps
[…]
==> Downloading https://homebrew.bintray.com/bottles-num/brewsci-mumps-5.2.1.sierra.bottle.tar.gz

curl: (22) The requested URL returned error: 404 Not Found
Error: Failed to download resource “brewsci-mumps”
Download failed: https://homebrew.bintray.com/bottles-num/brewsci-mumps-5.2.1.sierra.bottle.tar.gz

I am running under Catalina (Mac OS 10.15.5).
Any help appreciated!
Cheers,
Stephane

Hi @labrosse! I have your same issue. I tried to install mumps on Mac OS 10.15 (Catalina) and I get the same error you got. Did you manage to solve it? Thanks!!

Did you try making an issue with the brewsci project?

No, I just dropped it. I’d be interested in a solution though.

It should work as of today:

$ brew install brewsci/num/brewsci-mumps
