Disclaimer: I really don’t want to criticize this project. I love it and i think it’s what macos is lacking. I just wanna get help.
I’m on a pretty clean install of macos catalina (10.15) and i get some pretty slow performance.
When i install a package, it looks like the process hangs on “Finishing up”:
==> **Finishing up** ln -s ../Cellar/x265/3.3/bin/x265 x265 ln -s ../Cellar/x265/3.3/include/x265.h x265.h ln -s ../Cellar/x265/3.3/include/x265_config.h x265_config.h ln -s ../Cellar/x265/3.3/lib/libx265.188.dylib libx265.188.dylib ln -s ../Cellar/x265/3.3/lib/libx265.a libx265.a ln -s ../Cellar/x265/3.3/lib/libx265.dylib libx265.dylib ln -s ../../Cellar/x265/3.3/lib/pkgconfig/x265.pc x265.pc /usr/bin/sandbox-exec -f /private/tmp/homebrew20200517-48717-12aifhw.sb nice ruby -W0 -I $LOAD_PATH -- /usr/local/Homebrew/Library/Homebrew/postinstall.rb /usr/local/Homebrew/Library/Taps/homebrew/homebrew-core/Formula/x265.rb
It took me about about 2 hours to install ffmpeg and it’s dependencies.
First: Is this normal? I find it pretty slow, but maybe it’s normal.
Is there something I should update or install?
Here’s my setup:
Macbook pro early 2013:
- macos 10.15.4
- 2,4 GHz Intel Core i7
- 8 Go 1600 MHz DDR3
