Installed git, it prompts for java? yet unneeded?

brew install git popup alert that java is needed, yet ignoring seems to be ok option (thankfully) and the get more info button just takes you to adobe site.

so not sure what that was all about, scared the heck out of me because my first brew run and yes on OS X 10.12.x

If the dialog box looked like this:
then, like I still do once in a while, you forgot which platform you were on and typed apt install git instead. (There would also have been a No Java runtime present, requesting install. message on the command line.)

As far as I can see, nothing in the git formula or any of its dependencies do any Java stuff, but apt on macOS is the Java annotation processing tool.
