Home-brew gdal 3.1.0 doesn't make sim link for pcs.csv

The latest install for gdal is 3.1.0 Almost all files are stored in …/…/Cellar/gdal/3.1.0/share/gdal/ but simlinked from /usr/local/share/gdal. However, for pcs.csv, the file is stored in /usr/local/share/gdal and for installation of at least one R package, the compilation process has a hard coded path
usr/local/Cellar/gdal/3.1.0/share/gdal/pcs.csv. I can manually copy the pcs.csv file to that location but it seems like home-brew or gdal should do the necessary locating and linking of that file.

On a fresh install here the whole /usr/local/share/gdal directory is symlinked to the Cellar. I also don’t have the /usr/local/Cellar/gdal/3.1.0/share/gdal/pcs.csv file. Maybe it’s left over from an earlier install?

Homebrew can’t do anything with files that no longer exist in the source distribution. From https://github.com/OSGeo/gdal/blob/master/gdal/NEWS:
