Copy/Paste Terminal command fails

(Christian) #1

I have copy/pasted the text from the install page in Mojave 10.14, hit enter, and nothing happened at all. A new prompt was created "> " and that was it. Has anyone else had this problem?

(Sean Molenaar) #2

I’d guess you didn’t copy the full command then.

(Christian) #3

I’m sure I have. Care to suggest anything else?

(Sean Molenaar) #4

Are you using the default bash shell? Did macOS change the normal quotes into weird angled quotes “”?

(Christian) #5

Nope, they are straight up and down.

(Sean Molenaar) #6

Could you send a screenshot?

You’ll have to exit the command first. Press Ctrl + C before pasting the command again. And if that doesn’t work send a screenshot again.

@SMillerDev Is correct here. It looks like something didn’t get copied correctly as the > prompt comes up when you have an unfinished cURL statement.

Exiting the command work, thanks Sean
