You can work around this issue by installing it direct from the Apple developer page:

https://developer.apple.com/downloads/more

You’ll need the Command Line Tools (macOS 10.14) for Xcode 10.1, I hope this helps.

(Claudia) #3

@nalekberov Have you upgraded to macOS 10.14.1 yet? Upgrading may fix the issue.

(Dan Forward) #4

Thank you, Claudia. Upgrading to macOS 10.14.1 solved the problem for me. I was facing this same issue trying to install Homebrew on a new MacBook that had been freshly updated to macOS Mojave 10.14.

(Malcolm Guthrie) #5

I can get a clean install of Homebrew on macOS 10.14.1. Homebrew reports it’s installed correctly but It hangs when I try try to install any package. See below.

$ brew install wget
==> Installing dependencies for wget: gettext, libunistring, libidn2 and openssl
==> Installing wget dependency: gettext
==> Downloading https://homebrew.bintray.com/bottles/gettext-0.19.8.1.mojave.bottle.tar.gz

==> Pouring gettext-0.19.8.1.mojave.bottle.tar.gz

Here is an update. When I run the brew install command with --verbose --debug I get the following.

$ brew install wget --verbose --debug

If I try running the cp -pR command from the command line it hangs as well.

(Sean Molenaar) #7

That seems like an unrelated issue.

(Malcolm Guthrie) #8

You are correct. This is unrelated to the installation issue. I’ll report it as a separate issue.
