Any updates on this one ? I have got the same problem since upgrading to high sierra.

Nope. I’m seriously not entirely sure if it is at all related to High Sierra 10.13.2

Your ~/.gitconfig needs adjusted so that every git invocation isn’t trying to use and find git-lfs.

Problem solved. Thanks @MikeMcQuaid. And it definitely had nothing to do with OSX High Sierra.
