Brew install does not work on macOS Sierra

(Baturayo) #1

I upgraded my mac to Sierra and I can’t install gaia. I wrote “brew install gaia” and I received the message below. Do you have any recommendations?

“This formula either does not compile or function as expected on macOS
versions newer than El Capitan due to an upstream incompatibility.
Error: An unsatisfied requirement failed this build.”

I have the same Problem …

“Warning: bash-completion-1.3_1 already installed
Warning: You are using a pre-release version of Xcode.
You may encounter build failures or other breakages.
Please create pull-requests instead of filing issues.
qt: This formula either does not compile or function as expected on macOS

These formulae do not work on macOS Sierra.

have you any suggestion ?

Not much beyond: don’t upgrade to macOS Sierra until you’re sure the software you need to use is supported.

I’m getting a password message. What would that be?

Apropos of this, is there a quick way to determine which formulae don’t work on Sierra?

(Mir592) #9

Hi @CreatedLab Danni!
Could you enter the password? I’ve been trying it for a while and it will not let me.
Please, Help me:person_frowning:

(Danni) #10

Hi! I used my computer main administrator password and it worked. It looks like it won’t let you type, but it is working. After researching it, I learned that it is an additional security measure.

Hope it works!!

@CreatedLab YES!! Thank you!!! :slightly_smiling_face:
