Brew can't search: Invalid vitamin-r!? (OSX 10.14 Mojave)

(Bigorangemachine) #1

I can’t seem to search. When I do brew search postgresql I get the following error

Error: Cask ‘vitamin-r’ definition is invalid: ‘appcast’ stanza may only appear once.

I tried the obvious brew doctor and cask cleaning but no luck. I also tried --debug but it says its not supported.

brew -v responds with Homebrew 1.9.0-2-g04b8cb8

The vitamin-r cask seems broken. Could you report it to the caskroom tap (if it’s available from there)
I can’t check that for you atm unfortunately.

@bigorangemachine I was going to follow up with the report suggested by @SMillerDev so I went here to figure out where and how and found that running the command suggested there (brew update-reset && brew update fixed the issue.

I would be happy to but I don’t know what that is and I keep getting a lot of dead links on google

Yeah, didn’t have a lot of time to write a reply. For future reference, it’s here: https://github.com/Homebrew/homebrew-cask
